London, June 5 (ANI): Former Pakistan premier Shaukat Aziz has predicted that PML-N leader and former premier Nawaz Sharif would soon pull out his party’s support to the PPP-led federal government, to pave the way for fresh elections, which, according to him, Nawaz’s party would sweep.

According to him, the next general elections would lead to a two-party system, with the PML-N being in power and the PPP in the Opposition.

He said that President Pervez Musharraf was the “glue” that was keeping Sharif and Zardari together, and “as soon as the fastener comes off loose, the two will go their separate ways”, reported the Dawn.

He did not agree with the suggestion that the two parties would bend over backwards to complete the tenure and use the time first to get power transferred from the Presidency to parliament and then to strengthen the constitution.

Aziz described the post-election Pakistan as “a rudderless ship”, which, according to him, needed a firm hand to steer it clear of troubled waters. He blamed the interim government of Mohammedmian Soomro for most of the economic problems that the elected government was facing today. (ANI)
