New Delhi, July 9 (ANI): National Democratic Alliance (NDA) allies will meet here today to plan its future strategy in the wake of the Left parties withdrawing support to the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government.

The BJP is clear that though they are not against the Indo-US nuclear deal as such, they do have reservations about the deal in its present form.

On Tuesday, the BJP had asked the UPA government to prove its majority in the Lok Sabha.

The BJP response came after Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) General Secretary Prakash Karat made an announcement of withdrawal of his party’s support to the government over the Indo-US nuclear deal.

Earlier, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh had said that India had been assured that once it decides to go ahead with the nuclear deal, things would move swiftly.

He also hoped that the IAEA Board of Governors would not take too long to approve the nuclear safeguards for India.

India has been assured that once it took the decision to go to the IAEA, the process to go ahead with the deal would move pretty fast, said Dr. Singh.

There are reports that the IAEA Board of Governors will hold a meeting on July 28 to approve the India-specific nuclear cooperation safeguards. (ANI)
