Kathmandu, June 5 (ANI): Deposed Nepal King Gyanendra is likely to vacate the Narayanhiti Palace on Friday.

Kantipur quoted official sources as saying "King Gyanendra is likely to go to Nagarjun Palace on Friday morning. He will be provided adequate security during his departure to avoid any untoward incident."

On Wednesday the government had decided to accept Gyanendra's request for Nagarjun Palace as his residence after he leaves the Narayanhiti Palace.

A cabinet meeting held at Baluwatar, decided to agree to the King's request to occupy the Palace located in the northern suburbs of Kathmandu to former King with proper security arrangements.

Gyanendra had enquired about his new residence and security arrangements after the first Constituent Assembly (CA) meeting which directed him to leave the Narayanhiti palace within 15 days.

Nagarjun Palace, which is situated some eight kilometres north-west from the capital's centre, was previously owned by Gyanendra in his capacity as King and was nationalised by the government in August last year. (ANI)
