Simla, Aug.30 (ANI): Exiled Tibetans are close to completing a 12-hour-long fast and prayer program here, aimed at promoting world peace and for highlighting the Tibetan freedom struggle. They were supported by Indians, who joined hands with them Tibetans-in-exile here. The program that started at 8 a.m. concludes at 8 p.m. The Tibetan community has organized the prayers and fasting across the globe on the call of the Dharamsala-based Tibetan Solidarity Committee. In Simla, the local Solidarity committee organized fasting programs at Pantha Ghati Monastery, the Sanjauli and the bus stand in Nabha. awang, a Tibetan welfare officer, said: "The motive is to ease the negative emotions and to accumulate good Karma through this prayer."
