London, June 5 (ANI): Britain's first-ever "divorce fair" is being held to help parting couples make their break-ups as trouble-free as possible - with the help of sexy pole-dancers.

The Starting Over Show is aimed to help people bounce back from relationship break-ups and life crises.

Organisers chose Brighton as their first UK venue after research showed South Coast towns had some of the country's highest divorce rates.

The event will see pole-dancers encouraging divorcees to take up the saucy hobby to boost their confidence.

In addition, lawyers, business experts, health professionals and independent financial advisers will also be readily available to help people wanting to split up.

"More than 140,000 UK couples divorce each year, not to mention the thousands of co-habiting couples who need to extricate themselves from shared mortgages and lives," the Daily Star quoted event producer Suzy Miller, as saying.

However, the idea has already come under fire.

A spokesman for relationship counselling group Relate said: "The more help and advice for people going through the divorce the better."

"However, any divorce 'event' must include advice on counselling and emotional support because divorce can be traumatic," he added.

Emma Brennan, of the Family and Parenting Institute, added: "You cannot reduce divorce to a series of practical problems."

"It's an extremely painful experience for all involved, especially if couples have children," she added. (ANI)
