LOS ANGELES - Columbine High School, which saw one of the worst ever attacks on schools in the country, was evacuated following a bomb scare.
Authorities said that they had received a bomb threat Thursday following which the school was evacuated. The High School was the scene of one of the deadliest attacks in 1999. Columbine students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold went on a shooting spree on April 20 that year, killing 13 persons before shooting themselves.
There is no clear information about the level of the current threat except that a threat had been delivered via telephone. "All we know at this point is that there is a bomb threat and that the school has been evacuated," a Jefferson County Sheriff's spokeswoman confirmed.
However the spokeswoman had no information on whether the caller had made any reference to the school’s past history.
