Sony Intros World's First 16.4- inch Wide Multimedia Notebook |

TUESDAY, July 22, (News Locale) - Japanese electronics giant Sony Corp has announced the introduction of the new Vaio FW notebook— a multimedia PC that promises to enable consumers to view High Definition movies in exactly the way they are meant to be seen.
The new Vaio FW notebook is available as premium and standard models, but users can choose from multiple configurations. The Vaio FW Notebook boasts of the world's first 16.4-inch display, which is ideal for Blu-ray Disc movies.
Users can view movies in the intended format because the notebook's extra-wide LCD is constructed with a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is the standard used while shooting HD movies. Sony’s patented XBRITE-HiColour LCD technology is also available on select models allowing viewers to get sharper pictures.
Powered by new Intel Centrino 2 technology, the Vaio FW notebook also boasts of instant system responsiveness and energy efficiency besides delivering red hot performance.
The Vaio FW Notebook is pre-loaded with three entertainment software applications. The Vaio Movie Story software is an easy way to belt out high-quality home movies, while the Vaio MusicBox software enables consumers to enjoy music based on their mood. Finally the Click to Disc/ Editor Software offers easy DVD/ BD video-editing and creation.
Users who want to watch movies on a television set can use the HDMI output connector to do so.
The Vaio Media software, which is a DLNA-enabled media sharing application enables users to wirelessly stream content stored on PC throughout their home network. External memory support includes multiple ports and jacks including Memory Stick media/SD card slot, three USB ports, an i.Link Ieee-1394 port, microphone and headphone jack, and a 34mm ExpressCard slot.
Almost all FW notebooks are Energy Star 4.0 compliant making it an eco-friendly product.
The standard version of the Sony Vaio FW notebook is expected to retail at around $1,000, while the premium edition may cost in the region of $1,750.
