SATURDAY, JAN 19, (News Locale) - Following the successful launch of its trivia game in Europe and US, Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) announced that it will be launching the Indianised version of  "Buzz! Quiz" in India.

Releasing details of the game at Vie Lounge in Mumbai, Sony said that it has modified the game to make it relevant to Indian gamers and has coded over 5,000 trivia questions, ranging from sports to entertainment, into the game. The company added that it has developed the game in collaboration with well known quizmaster, Derek O'Brien.

Announcing the launch in a star studded event, attended by sport and bollywood personalities such as Neil Mukesh, Sonia Mehra and Sreesanth, SCE manager Atindriya Bose said, "Buzz enjoys a tremendous fan following across the globe because of three key elements - accessibility, character and sociability."

Re-titled as "Buzz! The Maha Quiz", the game offers TV style presentation to gamers, who will be asked questions by Buzz and his assistant Rose. Major changes from the original game include the introduction of three new rounds with the final round redesigned to capture the atmosphere of a TV game show.

The game also has a multiplayer mode in which 5-8 people can take part. The gamers will have a range of 16 contestants to choose from and will also have a choice of selecting three different game lengths and difficulty levels.

"Buzz! The Maha Quiz" will be available in the market at a price of Rs 1,499 and will come with 4 special "buzzers". Users will be able to insert themselves into the game by using an EyeToy USB camera. Sony revealed that the game will be released only for PlayStation 2 console.
