With the launch of its G-Series notebooks, Lenovo has embarked upon the low cost laptop market this week. Initially priced at a modest Rs 31,750, the G-Series notebooks are aimed at the value conscious customers who are in for a changeover from the desktop to laptops. 

The new G-Series notebooks from Lenovo provide a mobility solution to the value conscious customers. Earlier, prices of Lenovo notebooks started from Rs. 50,000. The 3000 G Series notebooks now available in all authorized stores in the Indian market are not only affordable, but also sport a stylish look and deliver high performance.

The notebook has effective power management solution installed and can live up to four hours on battery and weighs 2.35 kg. Lenovo G400 has in-built high speed 56K modem, wireless 802.11 BG technology, Memory Card reader and Bluetooth version 2.0. According to the company, Lenovo will continue to offer new products in high-end segment as well. The company plans to offer new variants in low-cost solutions in coming months

The new G400 notebook is supported by Intel’s Pentium Dual-Core T2080 (1.73GHz, 533MHz FSB, 1MB) processor and is operated on DOS. In addition, the new notebook incorporates a 14.1″ WXGA high definition glossy widescreen display, high touch full-sized keyboard. The flagship product is inspired by the ThinkPad keyboard design, and One Key Recovery, which allows users to easily recover data in the event of a crash.

Other features of the Lenovo G-Series include an integrated microphone, Realtek High Definition Audio with greater than 8cc chamber design make open the doors of entertainment and communication. The limited edition Power2Go 5.5 multimedia software allows the user to record various forms of data.

Describing the new Lenovo G-Series notebooks, Transaction Business, Lenovo, executive director Anil Philip claimed, “Notebooks offering mobility and productivity at an affordable price are becoming a preferred choice for consumers looking to upgrade from desktops, to notebooks. With the Lenovo 3000 G Series, we are targeting a new set of value-conscious consumers and providing them one of our best engineered notebooks.”

The G Series notebooks are availbale in all Levono stores.
