BigAdda user base tops 1 million; next stop 10 million |

THURSDAY, JAN 10, (News Locale) - Social networking site Bigadda.com has announced that it currently has 1.24 million users and aims to hit the 10 million number by 2010. The site, which was launched in August 2007, has gained massive popularity in the country.
Users from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Dubai, US and UK account for 10 percent of the site's traffic, while 50 percent of BigAdda users are from 20 of India's leading cities including Mumbai and Delhi.
“I believe that social networking platforms are for real. It is becoming the center of their social graph. We are in the very early stages of this phenomenon," said Rajesh Sawhney, President, Reliance Entertainment. He further opined that the evolution of broadband would provide a fillip to social networking sites.
Owned by Reliance ADAG, Bigadda not only lets users create their profiles online, it also allows them to connect with other people having similar likes and dislikes.
Siddhartha Roy, Chief Operating Officer, BigAdda said a million plus user base in a short time was a big achievement for the site.
BigAdda gets at least a million page views every day and adds some 12,000 users on a daily basis. Indians seems to have embraced the concept of adda (hangout) in a big way. With most of the Indian population in the 18-30 age group, popularity of sites like Bigadda will only grow with time.
