Apple Inc, maker of the highly successful portable music player iPod, has unveiled the new iPod shuffle, which comes in five bright colors including Blue, Pink, Green, Orange, and Original Silver. iPod Shuffle, the cheapest and smallest of all iPod designs, will be marketed as a must-have fashion accessory. Launched just three months ago, iPod shuffle has quickly become a hit with customers due to its low price and small size. The player weighs just half an ounce and has a stunning aluminum design which makes it the most wearable iPod ever. iPod shuffle has a memory capacity of 1 gigabyte and can store over 240 songs. The player has a battery life of 12 hours. Announcing the new designs, Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing, said, "iPod shuffle is the world's most wearable digital music player. Music fans can now choose iPod shuffle in one of five brilliant colors, or they can buy one of each." iPod shuffle will be available worldwide in Apple Store, Apple's retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers for a cost of $79. Minimum requirements include Mac with a USB 2.0 port and Mac OS(R) X version 10.3.9 or later and iTunes 7.0.2 or later; or a Windows PC with a USB 2.0 port and Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4), Windows XP Home or Professional (Service Pack 2) and iTunes 7.0.2 or later apart from an internet connection.
