Melbourne, July 10 (ANI): ‘Grease’ star Olivia Newton-John said ‘I Do’ for the second time in a surprise wedding ceremony in Malibu. 

The 59-year-old singer wed 49-year old Australian entrepreneur John Easterling in a lavishly organized ceremony – that guests thought was going to be a barbecue party.

“We thought we were attending a Fourth of July Independence Day barbecue,” Daily Telegraph quoted a guest, as saying.

The bride was almost forced to cancel her big day when a brush fire broke out in a nearby canyon.

However a source said: “John said they could wait a few days, or change the venue, but Olivia was determined that nothing was going to interfere with her special day.”

The stars, whose hits include “You’re the one I want” with John Travolta, said she had gone through too much in life already to let anything interfere with her happiness.

The couple began dating last year, and are both environmental campaigners.

Newton-John has overcome her share of obstacles. In 1992 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and a year later her marriage with Matt Lattanzi ended in a divorce after he had an extramarital affair.

In 2005 she was devastated by the disappearance of her boyfriend of nine years, 48 year old Patrick Mc Dermott, who went missing after going on a overnight fishing trip out of San Pedro, California. (ANI)
