The inquest into the mysterious death of Anna Nicole Smith's son was delayed by fears of potential juror bias here today. The Bahama Journal reported on Wednesday that jury selection was postponed following partiality concerns.
The issue was apparently raised by Howard K. Stern's attorney who felt "that they should put a questionnaire to them so that they can determine the fairness of potential jurors, so that he can ensure that his client gets a fair shake." Daniel Smith died last September in the Bahamas under mysterious circumstances.
He was visiting his mother Anna Nicole and her three-day old daughter Dannielynn at the time of his death. Authorities were able to determine he died from drug overdose, but do not know if foul play was involved. Officially methadone cocktail is implicated in his death, but it is not clear where he got the drugs from.
Celebrity website TMZ.com reports Larry Birkhead, Anna Nicole's ex-boyfriend is due to testify tomorrow.
Anna Nicole Smith herself died of drug overdose last month leaving behind her five-month old daughter. Howard K Stern is officially listed as Dannielynn's father although Larry Birkhead has also claimed paternity.
