MONDAY, May 5, (News Locale) - Aamir Khan's tryst with injury continues as the actor suffered a hamstring injury for the second time in a week and has had to delay the shooting of his next film, Ghajini for three weeks.
The actor had earlier sprained his hamstring on Wednesday after shooting for a fight scene in which he had to lift a bulky man, who weighed around 100 kilos, and throw him. As Aamir tried to enact the scene he pulled a hamstring muscle and the shooting had to be cut off.
The actor seemed to have recovered after a couple of days' rest and pushed director AR Murgadoss into resuming the shooting as he did not want it to be stopped due to his injury. On Sunday however the actor aggravated his injury while shooting the climax scene.
The action sequence of the scene required Aamir to chase and leap on the villain to bring him down. But as the actor leapt up, the thermacole support broke and Aamir fell down clutching his left leg in agony. The crew thought that Aamir was pulling on an act and took the incident lightly.
However when he continued to lie on the set for almost 40 minutes and was unable to get up the physiotherapist, who luckily was on the set, examined the actor and called in a specialist who took him to a nearby hospital where it was revealed that he had torn his hamstring in the left leg.
Aamir confirmed his latest injury on his blog hours after the incident saying, "Just when I thought I was recovered I’ve injured myself again. And this time its worse than last time. Unfortunately it’s hurting much more than last time and I am on painkillers which I don’t normally use."
Ghajini is a remake of a Tamil film of the same name and stars Jiah Khan, Mohit Alawat and Asin, who has also acted in the Tamil version with Surya as the main lead.
